Enjoy Gaming? Why Not Service People’s Consoles For Cash In An Exciting New Career
Gaming is a huge thing nowadays. It’s no longer just teenagers and school kids enjoying games now, even adults are joining in the fun. Games are incredibly popular and aren’t only for fun either, there are a great number of collectibles available too ranging from limited edition versions of a game to gaming merchandise. It’s no surprise that the games industry is growing rapidly because of this, presenting many New Careers and opportunities. One such class of Careers is in console repairs. The new technology used in modern consoles is pricey and so people don’t generally have the money to buy a new one if it stops working, so as an alternative, they turn to console repair centres where they can get their present console repaired for a small fee. If you’re interested in technology and games, these Career Choices may be an appealing option for you.
The model behind console repairs is quite straightforward, not everybody has the money to buy a whole console again and a number of people grow attached to their belongings and would prefer it to be mended than change it. Today’s market is filled with numerous different consoles, making these Careers much more varied than they previously were and also increasing their customer base. The consoles are all built differently too, so the scope of repairs you can carry out is great. The most widespread problems that may take place in some modern consoles include overheating which causes the solder to crack, faulty disc drivers and display problems on handheld consoles. No doubt this list is not extensive and in these New Careers you may be dealing with just about any fault that arises in a console.
One of the great things regarding these Career Choices is that there are no qualifications for it. This means that you may teach yourself the technology and don’t have to be concerned about going to university or taking a specific course. It is however a good idea that you try an IT course and/or systems control course through school, so that you can become accustomed to the technology and how it works. Ideally you should be practising in your spare time too to become efficient, doing things like putting together your own computer and trying to repair old consoles to increase your confidence and technique. Once practised, you have to only prove your ability and efficiency to get a job somewhere. If you are up to the challenge, you can even consider starting your own repairs business. This can be done from an office space with others involved, or you could go at it solo from home.
If you do decide to try out one of these Career Choices then you’re probably not going to be receiving a fixed salary. While not always the case, most smaller places will be paying depending on the amount of work they get. You can’t guarantee that people’s consoles will need servicing, but so long as you make your name acknowledged, business will come. The most important point to keep in mind about these Careers however, is not the salary that you earn, you have to be choosing these options because it is something you have a passion for and something you enjoy doing.
