Paramore Albums – A Glimpse On Their History
The alternative rock band, Paramore, is just among the few musical groups to have risen fast in the music charts. This is since the band was formed just in 2004 and now with three Paramore albums to their name, and all are best selling albums, they have successfully made their marks in the music scene. And this is just the beginning with more to expect from them.
Paramore was formed in 2004 in Tennessee in the United States. Their band members include: Hayley Williams at the vocals, Taylor York with the rhythm guitar, Josh Farro as the lead guitarist, Jeremy Davis at base, and Zac Farro at the drums. They have now released three albums, each reaching great success. One good testament to this is the increased demand for their band merch across the globe.
The Band’s History
Back in 2002, the brothers Josh and Zac met Hayley Williams while the two were attending a private school. Hayley was only 13 years old then but she was already very serious with her musical abilities as she was also taking some singing lessons during that time. Hayley and Jeremy Davis were playing with a different band which was more into funk music. That band was called The Factory. It was a short time later that they finally decided to form their own band with the Farro brothers. At first the other members were having doubts because they were not sold with the idea of having a female vocalist. However, since Hayley was already writing songs for the band, they eventually gave in. Her songwriting skills soon gave Paramore its distinct sound that fans are familiar with.
As to the band’s name, Paramore, it is said to have been the maiden name of the mother of one of their former band member. They liked the sound of it and especially when they learned that it is related to the word “paramour” which means “secret lover”. The band then decided to retain the name.
The 3 Paramore Albums
Paramore’s first ever released album was called the “All We Know Is Falling”. The album was released on the 24th of July, 2005. “All We Know Is Falling” quickly rose in the charts. It reached the number 8 spot on the UK Rock Chart and also the 30th rank on the Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Soon there were fans who were looking for Paramore merch to start their own band collection.
Before the release of the album, Jeremy Davis decided to leave the band. He was able to play in some of the songs and was also part of some of the music videos shot for the album. However, he soon realized that he made a mistake and he returned after the album’s release.
The second of the Paramore albums is the Riot! which was released on June 12, 2007. A year later it was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album released four hit singles: “Misery Business”, “Hallelujah”, “Crushcrushcrush” and “That’s What You Get”.
Brand New Eyes is the title of their third and latest album. Brand New Eyes was released on the 29th of September, 2009 and in just a few months became a gold record.
There is more to the current successes of Paramore. With their own brand of music which is said to be a mixture of emo and pop punk, it is great alternative music nonetheless. And with their continuous writing of their own hit songs, Paramore fans the world over have so much more to expect from them including more great music videos in the future.
Taste New Pop Punk with Paramore
There’s been a recent deluge in Paramore merch. That’s thanks largely to the band’s involvement in the hit teen movie, Twilight. The soundtrack for the movie feature’s the group’s Decode and I Caught Myself. For certain though, with the level of passion that the band pours into its work, its members would mostly likely take offense at being labeled merely as that band that played for Twilight.
For purposes of categorization, Paramore’s music is mainly considered emo or pop punk. This isn’t a strict definition of their work though because Paramore is almost an anti thesis of conventional punk. Whining and angst are reduced to a minimum and abrasiveness is shown with a purpose. The group’s music is emotional without being irritating.
Many music fans consider Paramore to be more mature than other punk artists. This is unexpected since the group is almost rooted on a youthful image. The members are all grown ups now but they began their road to stardom when they were barely out of primary school. Before Paramore albums became the hottest things, they were just young musicians enjoying themselves in a garage. Vocalist Williams was just fourteen and drummer Zac Farro was just twelve. Rounding up the first members were lead guitarist Josh Farro, bassist Jeremy Davis and rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum. Hayley Williams was and still is the only female in the group which possibly accounts for the band’s unique dynamics.
In 2005, the band finally made their work public through their first album release, All We Know is Falling. This was a fitting release for an emo band considering that it communicated what members felt when Jeremy Davis left. The album is the closest the group has come to conventional punk but it did not lead to overwhelming success for them. Davis jumped right back into the group after only a few months but other changes took place. Hunter Lamb took over Bynum’s role but also eventually left.
At the beginning of 2007, the creation of more Paramore albums seemed obvious. It was on this year that Riot! came out and entered the Billboard 200 at 20. Although it didn’t debut with a bang, the album did reach platinum in the U.S. At around the same time the band tasted their first success, Taylor York came in as rhythm guitarist to replace Lamb.
There was more in store for the group in 2008. They took center stage on Alternative Press’ February cover after they were voted 2007’s best band by readers. To top this recognition, they were nominated for a Grammy Award. Shortly after this, they launched their first tour called The Final Riot. By the end of it, two of their songs were already in the Twilight soundtrack. In September 2009, Brand New Eyes was released. It is the group’s most successful work in the charts to date.
There is no stopping the deluge of Paramore merchandise like music clothing. This is despite the rift rumors that have haunted and continue to haunt the group. Past rumored conflict revolved around the media’s focus on Hayley Williams. By all current appearances though, the group is as solid as platinum.
